My name is Jaynah. I am a personal financial advisor. I'm feeling a bit nervous because I've never done this before and I'm really excited because it’s something new and something fun, something challenging for me to do. That's what challenge is all about trying to stretch yourself, coming out of your comfort zone and doing something that you don’t normally do.
I met the instructor, he talked us through all the safety instructions - we watched a video about how it all works then we put the special gear on then the gloves and the helmet.
To be able to do well as a PFA you have to be a go getter, you have to be self motivated, constantly challenge yourself and push your boundaries.
It’s really important as a PFA to build up that relationship with my customers, because they have to trust me, they have to feel at ease.
I love targets; I love to have targets because otherwise how can I show that I'm better than lots of other people? You have to have that kind of attitude to try and do better than the others.

My name’s Omar and I'm a PMF in the Leyton branch.
The job is very challenging so you’ve got to be always up for that challenge, being able to get up and go, go and find your client, go and find the business that you need. Every day you wake up getting that motivation, getting that excitement and making sure that you're out there looking after people's investments.
It is important to always listen to other people who have been doing the job, because they’ve experienced it - they’ve done it. When you first start out, you're not going to be confident because you’re new to things. But as you get that understanding of the background, you also get the help you need - and that's where your confidence is going to grow.
The sort of person that will succeed as a PFA is someone who is really up for a challenge - someone who is ambitious, someone who really has the get up and go to find their clients and gain the knowledge base that they need to make sure they can understand and relate to the products and services that we are able to offer to customers.
In essence, it is about learning on the job, taking instructions, watching and observing other people do it - I am loving it!
